I'm a member of technical staff at Tilera, working on lots of cool systems software development for our mysterious product, soon to be announced.
My previous job was as development architect at Symantec for the Application Saver product in the Application and Infrastructure Management business unit. (Symantec acquired VERITAS, which acquired Geodesic Systems, where I was chief architect, having co-founded InCert Software, which Geodesic acquired.)
A partial list of my publications is on line, including my Ph.D. thesis, Managing Scheduled Routing With A High-Level Communications Language; it was done as part of the NuMesh group's research within the Computer Architecture Group at MIT's Laboratory for Computer Science. My curriculum vitae is also online, though not updated since I left Symantec.
The best way to get in touch with me is by e-mail (metcalf@lcs.mit.edu); you can also call me at work at (508) 616-9300. For US mail, you can use:

If you'd like to see some family pictures, please drop me a line and I will send you the password.
My PGP public key is available here, though I fear it uses the now deprecated IDEA cipher; I really should update it. I also have a few random, mostly uninteresting hacks that I've put up for anonymous FTP at one time or another. (I also have a perkier-looking picture in black and white from November 1990 when I started this web page.)
